Role in the cooling system of internal combustion engines
Fuel combustion in the engine cylinders produces temperatures of up to 2000 °C. Only 30–40% of this energy is converted into useful work, while the rest is transferred to the engine block and cylinder head. To prevent overheating, loss of power and damage to components, excess heat is removed through the cooling system. Without proper cooling, the engine would lose lubrication and power, and vital parts would seize.
Engine cooling methods
Air (direct) cooling
Liquid (indirect) cooling
Today liquid cooling is used in most applications, as it provides a more stable thermal regime and prevents local overheating. The system consists of coolant channels, a thermostat, piping, a radiator with fans and a water pump.
What the water pump does
The pump moves coolant through the engine system. At start-up it ensures that vital parts warm up evenly, and once operating temperature is reached (around 80 °C) it maintains constant circulation of cooled liquid from the radiator. In vehicles with a cab, the pump also directs coolant to the cabin heater.
Our water pumps
The pumps in our range are mostly centrifugal. With curved or straight impeller blades, they use centrifugal force to move the coolant. The shape of the volute, the sealing system and bearing quality are especially important. Our pumps use modern sealing solutions and proven bearings that meet strict technical standards.
Reliable operation
Pobjeda Tešanj water pumps provide constant coolant circulation and keep the engine at its optimal operating temperature, preventing overheating and protecting vital parts.
High build quality
They are made from proven materials and undergo strict quality control at every stage of production. This is how we guarantee durability, reliability and safety in service.
